One was covered by warranty, the other by a HP Care Pack (Next Business Day). In both cases, I reported the failure last Friday and replacement disks were promptly dispatched by the distributor and HP, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>As of Wednesday evening, they have not arrived.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, we&#8217;re in the last frenzy of the Christmas shopping rush, but what UPS is reporting on their tracking webpage is simply an outrage.<\/p>\n<p>On monday morning, their tracking page reported the packet as <\/p>\n<pre>VIENNA, AT \t21.12.2009  \t8:10  \tIMPORTSCAN <\/pre>\n<p>and &#8220;on track to delivery today&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>No delivery attempt was made on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday&#8217;s action reads<\/p>\n<pre>VIENNA, AT  \t22\/12\/2009  \t17:56  \tTHE RECEIVER IS ON A HOLIDAY. \n           DELIVERY WILL BE ATTEMPTED WHEN THE RECEIVER RETURNS <\/pre>\n<p>I was <strong>not<\/strong> on vacation. Co-workers were in the office until 18:30. No delivery attempts were noticed.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday&#8217;s UPS log shows:<\/p>\n<pre>VIENNA, AT  \t23\/12\/2009  \t17:08  \tTHE RECEIVER IS ON VACATION. \n           DELIVERY WILL BE ATTEMPTED WHEN THE RECEIVER RETURNS\n\t23\/12\/2009 \t5:19 \tOUT FOR DELIVERY\n\t23\/12\/2009 \t2:00 \tIMPORT SCAN  <\/pre>\n<p>Today I was on vacation, but dropped by at the office around 17:00 and there were three collegues present. No UPS delivery guy, though.<\/p>\n<p>So, this looks like someone is simply making things up to cover up that they could not keep their SLA.<\/p>\n<p>A disgrace.<\/p>\n<p>At this point I have to add that our local Federal Post office has improved their customer service noticeably. Whereas I used to leave the Treustra&szlig;e office angered by their slowness, the last three times they were actually helpful and tried to avoid unnecessary waiting times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After a complaint by phone to UPS the disks finally made it to our office on December 30th.<\/p>\n<p><a href='https:\/\/lendl.priv.at\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/ups-tracking.png'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lendl.priv.at\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/ups-tracking.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"ups-tracking\" width=\"500\" height=\"501\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-171\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The only working day where the office really wasn&#8217;t manned was December 24th.
